An illustrated popup book centered around a fascinating hypothetical ‘What If?’ question

The ‘Lost Immortals’ pop-up book was developed from a college brief that required the production of a 24 page book (12 double page spreads). There was no text specified in the requirements so an extract from a Randall Munroe book, ‘What if?’ was selected. The particular section of the book is titled “Lost Immortals” and attempts to answer a hypothetical question: “If only two people were left on earth, how long would it take them to find each other”. The production of this book provided an opportunity to delve into the world of pop-up/ paper mechanics, bookbinding and printing techniques.

The book was printed, cut and assembled personally, including the binding and hard back cover.
